Julienne never knew her biological parents. She grew up displaying a natural athletic talent and managed to get several sponsors for the BMX events she competed in before getting a spiral fracture in her right arm and falling into drugs and depression during her recovery. The Steel Foundation for Young Women took an interest in the troubled girl, and gave her a new purpose.
